What We Do
We bring together resources to help people reach their fullest potential.
The NoMa Community Center offers weekly services and programming of its own and in collaboration with partnering individuals and groups. We provide these programs and services at no cost to participants, and even give stipends when possible. We encourage donations from those able to give, so that we can continue to offer our services and programming for free.
We rely on generous donations of time and talent from our committed volunteers, many of whom come from the population that the organization serves. These volunteers show up regularly, which speaks to our culture and to a sense of pride and ownership among our clientele.
Throughout these pages, you will continue to see phrases such as "Making Connections", "Engagement", "Inclusion", and "Building Social Capital". This is at the heart of what we do. We believe that it is almost impossible to hold onto false assumptions about another person or group while working alongside them.
