Short-term and Recurring Programs

The NoMa Community Center offers the following short-term and recurring programming. We provide these programs at no cost to participants. We do, however, encourage donations from those who are able to give, so that we can continue to offer our programming at no cost.

Wearable Art Workshops

Local artists teach residents how to artistically repurpose and upcycle clothing and other items. At the same time, the artists provide their stories and their ideas on turning crafts and artistic hobbies into businesses.

Music+Tech Fellowships

Our “Music+Tech” workshops teach participants the Python and JavaScript programming languages by using them to create music, with one of the goals of having participants become future Music+Tech workshop facilitators using a “train the trainer” model. We want our participants to share what they learn with family, friends, and neighbors, creating networks that build community technology power.
